A past time

(Warning: This will probably be gory and graphic in its own way.)

Silente sat on the bench, leaning back with her hands behind her head, smiling at her life. Finally her life was just as she had wanted it to be, not that she'd known that before. She had a beautiful wife, a loving child (who, I might add, she hadn't had to go through pain to have), her parents and granmama back and even her nightmare, Onzwa, not that Beth knew about him. Life was going great for once, even if she sometimes missed her old life, missed harassing Zafira Kerais, missed fighting with Chione, missed teasing Elleni and Orpheus, missed watching the life slowly drain ou-
No. I won't miss that. I can't miss killing. It was wrong. It is wrong. That wasn't me..
But it was. She missed hunting, missed that rush she got when she was stalking her prey, missed the nervous laugh when they saw it was only a little kid, missed the scream of terror and disbelief as she lunged and ripped their throats out with her teeth and let the beautiful nectar of life stain her face and hands, draining them dry of every speck of blood then crushing them, bones grinding into one another, flesh tearing apart, the brain oozing out of cracks in the head under her pressure, like a teenager might crush a can of coke. She missed the struggle they used to put up and the momentary belief that they might survive that danced in their eyes, only to be destroyed.
She could understand missing that, it was in her nature to want to hunt. But that didn't explain why she missed hunting vampires too. She shouldn't. Vampires where instinctively bred not to attack each other when in their purest forms but that didn't stop their human selves from tearing each other limb from limb.
Sighing she leant back, closing her eyes. imagining her first vampire kill.

It had been sunny, bright and lovely. She'd hated it. The warmth on her skin had been irritating, mocking her chilled state, the bright light slightly stinging her eyes. She'd been sat in a field alone, away from the constant thud-thud thud-thud thud-thud thud-thud drink-me drink-me drink-me drink-me of human heart , hoping to find some peace and quiet where she could think. Unfortunately birds had heart beats too. And bugs. And flies. And everything except her, the ground, the grass and the sky. She'd laid back in the long brown stems of the African Savannah grass, counting the swaying tips that towered over her, trying to focus on anything other than the blood thundering through the veins of all those animals around her. It had been then that she'd heard it, the sound of soft footfalls approaching her to her left, coming in quickly. Frowning she had listened carefully for a heartbeat to help her guess what animal was going to try trample her, however no heartbeat had been present and the creature was almost upon her. Sighing she had slowly pushed up, glancing through the grass just in time for her to be smashed down to the ground by a blurred form. A groan had escaped her lips as she'd clambered back to her feet, turning to look at the person who had tripped over her. She hadn't even been all that surprised at the strong man before her. She had merely growled loudly, pouncing immediately onto him, grabbing him by the throat and smashing his head back onto a rock, grinning at the scream that escaped her preys lips while a spurt of blood spread on the ground around the rock. Hands scrabbled at her wrists, leaving bloodied furrows which joined her ever present cuts, but their scrabbling was in vein. With very little effort she snapped the bones she held with such a tight embrace, pushing the sharp ends out through his skin, watching the flesh tear apart as her hands were bathed in red. And that had been it. She'd sat up, licked her hands clean, loving the buzz vampire blood had given her.

A smile gifted her face. It was wrong for her to miss that, sure, but she loved it and couldn't help missing it. She wasn't perfect. She loved Beth, but she missed her freedom where she wasn't tied down, where there wasn't a Phaestra to stop her. She was perhaps going to have to think this through thoroughly, not very easy with Beth able to read her every thoughts, but important. With a small sigh she stood and headed home.

It's great, Jai! Nice to see a little more on Sil's past. :)

Although, I noticed one small(very small) thing.

Change breed to bred. I think the latter is what you meant.

Not wanting to leave this on an error note, I'll say it again: it's great! :)

@Dug Yeah. She does. She misses the violence and mischief and independence but she loves Beth, and she wants to do right by her. She can't just go running around like a maniac now. She has priorities and a family and is getting a headache at me mentioning all this xD

This could get veeeeery interesting.

Hehehe...

There's been so little violence and torture in Blogland recently.

I miss it..
